Probit Consulting and consultancy partners ICS Consulting hosted the AIM users group meeting in late April. The day was attended by 14 investment and asset planning representatives from Thames Water, South West Water and Welsh Water. The spring meeting focused on the official release and new functionality of AIM 2.5. In this version, we have concentrated on feedback from users of AIM as part of the PR14 investment submission and have significantly enhanced the optimization constraint editor and business intelligence capability within AIM. This is an important step for our clients, who have dedicated in-house teams now using AIM in a business as usual investment planning and delivery process.
Key features that were shown as part of the day included a more flexible and powerful constraint editor, user-defined reporting templates, and a new web-enabled GIS viewer. The users group also spent time learning how to translate business and investment planning questions into optimization scenarios and interpreting results using the enhanced reporting capabilities.
Discussions were also undertaken around how best to use AIM for uncertainty and sensitivity analysis and the ability to feed forward works plans back into the AIM scenario module to be compared to optimized scenarios.
We would like to thank everyone who attended and hope to see you again at the next group meeting.
